Soy Garlic Flank Steak


  • 2/3 cup soy sauce

  • 2 tablespoons and 2 teaspoons brown sugar

  • 2 tablespoons and 2 teaspoons lemon juice

  • 2 tablespoons and 2 teaspoons extra virgin coconut oil

  • 2-3/4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tablespoon and 1 teaspoon minced onion

  • 1-1/4 teaspoons ground ginger

  • 3/4 teaspoon black pepper

  • 2 pounds beef flank steak

  1. In a shallow bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, lemon juice, melted extra virgin coconut oil, garlic, onion, ginger and pepper. Coat steak with marinade, cover, and refrigerate for at least 6 hours.
  2. Preheat an outdoor grill for high heat, and lightly oil grate.
  3. Grill steak for 7 to 8 minutes per side, or to desired doneness.


This recipe does not contain many non-starchy vegetables. To maximize your results, it is highly recommended that you eat at least three servings of non-starchy vegetables via a SANE side dish or green smoothie along with this main dish.
