Blackened Tuna


Ingredients

  • 2 pounds fresh tuna steaks, 1 inch thick

  • 2 tablespoons and 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning

  • 2 tablespoons and 2 teaspoons extra virgin coconut oil

  • 2 tablespoons and 2 teaspoons butter

Total Time: 20 min Prep: 10 min Cook: 10 min

Directions

  1. Generously coat tuna with Cajun seasoning.
  2. Heat oil and butter in a large skillet over high heat. Right before oil starts smoking, place steaks in pan. Cook on one side for 3 to 4 minutes, or until blackened. Turn steaks, and cook for 3 to 4 minutes, or to desired doneness.

Tip!

This recipe does not contain many non-starchy vegetables. To maximize your results, it is highly recommended that you eat at least three servings of non-starchy vegetables via a SANE side dish or green smoothie along with this main dish.
